Erkin Azam (1950)

He was born in 1950 on the 10 th of August in maintaneous Boysun district of Kashkadarya region. Graduated from Tashkent State University, the faculty of journalizm (at present the National University of Uzbekistan). He worked as an editor in radio of Uzbekistan, an editor of the development in journals “Guliston”, and “Yoshlik”, an editor-in-chief in Publishing house “Adabiyot va san’at after Gofur Gulom. From 1992 till 1994 he was an assistant director in National Information agency.

Since 1995 he has been as an editor-in-chief of the journal “Tafakkur”. He is a deputy of Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan. He is an author of stories as: “Chirog’lar o’chmagan kecha” (1977), “Atoyining tug’ilgan yili” (1981), “Olam yam-yashil” (1984), “Javob” (1986), “Bayramdan boshqa kunlar” (1988), “Mir v tsvetax” (1999), “Pakananing oshiq ko’ngli” (2001), “Kechikayotgan odam” (2002).

Base on stories of the author such film as: “Chantimore”, “Piyoda”, “Dilxiroj” are made.
