Vasli Samarkandi (1896-1925)

Saidahmad Vasli Samarkandi was a writer of Samarkand literary trend. He was also a teacher and schoolar. Vasli wrote textbooks in Uzbek, Arabic and Farsi. He also wrote his books in these languages. His well known books are “Armug`oni duston” in Farsi, “Devonu Turki” in Uzbek, “Nazmus silsila” in Farsi, poems “Adab ud din” in Uzbek. In linguistics he wrote a book “Mukaddimai sarfi nahvu Arabi ham namunai sarfu nahvu Farsi”.

He wrote many articles on social-scientific topics in the newspapers of his time. He translated A. Jomi’s “Bahoriston” from Persian into Uzbek. J. Meliqulov and B. Muhiddinov from NUU are doing research on Samarkandi’s inherit. Academicians Gafur Gulom, V. Abdullev did research on Samarkandi’s works.
