Muhammad Andalib (1712-1780)

He was born in Hiva. He studied at the medrese of Hiva and Buhara. He was mentioned by Munis and Ogahiy in their work “Firdavs-ul-iqbol”, by Bayoni in his work “Shajarai Horazmshohiy”.

The Turkish divan and several poems are known nowadays: “Zaynu-l-arab”, “Yusuf va Zulayho”, “Layli va Majnun”, “Oguznoma”, “Sayyid Nasimi”, “Saad Vakkos” and etc. Andalib`s works are kept at the fund of Oriental Institute of Academy of Science of Republic of Uzbekistan under the numbers of 1392, 1169, 1198, 1387, 7054, 299, 6759, 1103, 6973, 6998, 1155, 1188, 6993, 1918.
